International Women's Day

The understanding:

"International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity."
This is the quote at the top of the homepage for: https://www.internationalwomensday.com/About

In the news:

The Fearless Girl

My achievements:
Today I was on "strike". I did not go to work.  I did not check email. Instead, I made art. All different kinds of art. Buttons, burp cloths, pussy hats, and paintings. I supported a small woman run business. I processed orders, made new things, and prepped for the days to come. If I can get this done in an 8 hour day, imagine what I could do in 40 hours a week. Today I lived a dream, it was sweet.

Thank you to the women who suffered and lead the way for me today. I am lucky to have my work, both inside and outside the home. Here's to finding new hope in the days to come.

Hello.... again....

Let's do this again....

I'm a few years older, wiser.... Well, a hell of a lot busier.  I've gone back to the real world.  I work 40 hours a week outside of the studio.  My son is now 6-1/2.  I found that over the last few years I stopped making art.  I just made what was asked, the shop closed.  Time is hard to find when you are always playing catch up.

Well, I am working to have time.  Not just spinning wheels trying to stay put.  Times are different now.  I am trying to find time for myself, find out what I need, not just what others need from me.

I find that the news is making me angry, so to fight the anger I am practicing Art Therapy...... I make Buttons and Pussy Hats...

So.  Hello..... I'm Janie..... I make art...

Here is where I will share it with you....

New Art, New Items in the store.... maybe even a new look....

Check back, things are happening.....

Twins!

Thanks to the snow day I have studio time! Today I made mobiles. These are for twins!

The last 2 years are filled with change. Here's to starting over, kinda.

Moving forward, maybe.

Stay tuned. We are entering the snowy season. I've stopped freelancing. Trying to settle into 1 job and a couple designs in the real world. Hopefully soon I'll be back in the studio daily.

Enjoy your snow day!

I guess it's time...

HALLOWEEN is right around the corner!

I took last year off completely from making costumes.  This year I think I can bring them back.  So, for all you lovers of Halloween, I have uploaded all of my Halloween costumes, hats, and accessories to the shop!

Some old stuff, some new.  Mostly old.  There was that year when Max was 14 months old and I made him too many costumes.

Max is now 4 and that pumpkin costume has had a few changes, and I have been able to incorporate some tricks into a better fit costume.  Every year Max always says he wants to be a ghost...  It's always the first option.  I'm glad he loves my costumes.  I made them all for him.  Now I get to make them for other kids.  I hope they love them as much as he does.

This year max asked for a rocket pack, because that's what I made him last year.  He loved it.  So last night I started a new costume.  There are some pieces and parts on the table.  Guess I should put them together before he gets home from school.

Stop by the shop to see new items as they come out!

PS.... I have tons of new stuff coming out everyday!

Up next.... the rocket pack!
